Cutenews is actually quite simple to install. Before reading this tutorial, make sure your host allows php, otherwise the installation will not work. Also, be sure to download cutenews here.

Okay, below is the steps we’ll take to successful install cutenews:

01. Create a directory on your server ( e.g. cutenews ).
02. Upload the content of the cutenews.1.4.5.zip (or whatever version you have) to the directory “cutenews”.
03. CHMOD the the directory cutenews/data/ and all files and folders under the data/ directory must be also chmod’ed to 777.
04. Finally, go to http://yoursite.com/cutenews/index.php in your browser and follow the instructions from there.

Now, I’ll go into a more detailed step-by-step instruction.

01. Open up your FTP client. For this tutorial, I used SmartFTP.

02. Click on your Public_html.

03. Create a directory called “Cutenews” by clicking on the “New Folder” icon shown below:

04. Now, you need to transfer the cutenews files from your computer to your server. You should be able to click and drag the cutenews folder from your computer to your cutenews directory.

05. Next, you need to to CHMOD (don’t know how?) the data folder, and all files and folders in data to 777.

07. Finally, open your favorite browser and go to http://www.yoursite.com/cutenews/index.php and follow the instructions. Then you are done! Congrats!
